Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information collected through Lynchburg Well Water's referral forms and how it is used. Do not submit sensitive medical information, payment details, or information you are not authorized to share.

Information collected

We collect the name, phone, optional email address, town or ZIP, water source, main problem, and timeframe entered in the form. We also store the submission timestamp, IP address, originating page URL, the optional consent value, and the exact consent text displayed. These records are saved server-side in a database, not only in your browser.

Basic server request logs can contain technical access information. Form details, passwords, and authorization headers are not intentionally written to application request logs. We do not add advertising trackers or marketing cookies as part of this site's implementation.

Purpose and sharing

Request information is intended to support water treatment referrals, respond to requests, operate the service, and prevent misuse. The intended referral process includes sharing relevant contact and water-concern details with an independent local provider so it can discuss the request. Providers are separate businesses and are responsible for their own handling of information.

When email notifications are configured, the saved request details are sent through Resend to the service operator's notification inbox for administrative handling. A successful submission saves a record but does not guarantee email delivery or mean information has already been sent to an independent provider. We do not sell checkout products or collect payment information on this site.

Optional automated-call and text consent

The automated-call and text checkbox is optional and unchecked by default. Submitting is allowed when it remains unchecked. We retain both the selected value and the text shown at submission so the record reflects your choice. Consent is not a condition of purchase. If you later receive texts covered by that consent, reply STOP to opt out as stated in the consent wording.

The checkbox is not permission to contact you about unrelated products. Leaving it unchecked does not prevent the request from being saved. No automated messaging system is connected in the current implementation.

Access, retention, and requests

Administrative CSV access is password-protected, and the export is locked until its secret password is configured. Access should be limited to people responsible for request handling. Records are retained until an authorized administrator removes them; no automatic retention or deletion schedule is configured. Do not assume a request disappears after a particular interval.

For access, correction, or deletion inquiries, use the request form to record a request for the service operator. Operator email notification depends on configuration and delivery, so this does not guarantee a response time; operator review and a retention policy still need to be established. Independent providers may require you to contact them separately about records they hold.

Changes and external resources

This policy may be updated as request routing and contact channels are configured. Links to official information lead to independent websites governed by their own policies. This website is not affiliated with Virginia Tech, VDH, or any government agency.

Request a free water test

The referral is free. Confirm screening scope and availability with the independent provider. Requests are saved; provider forwarding is not enabled yet.
